Ranks and levels
Recruit upward, with the XP fractions the lobby actually shows.
You start as a Recruit. The lobby HUD then shows rank names with an XP fraction such as 270/400 at Operator II and 618/850 at Specialist.
Your rank is the label next to your cash counter, and it climbs with XP rather than with cash. Here is what the ladder actually looks like on the current build.

What is visible in the build
Every officer starts as a Recruit. The lobby HUD then shows a rank name and an XP bar with the current level's requirement displayed as a fraction:
| Rank seen in the build | XP bar read as | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Recruit | — | Starting rank |
| Operator II | 270/400 | Reached after the early mission set |
| Specialist | 618/850 | Higher requirement per level as you climb |
The requirement grows as you go, which is the important part: the same raid that moved you through Recruit barely moves the bar at Specialist.
How the ladder is structured
- Ranks are named rather than numbered, and the names step through officer grades — operator tiers, specialist, and commander-level titles at the top.
- XP comes from completing missions and their objective lines, not from kills.
- The quest tab pays XP for normal play as well as cash.
- Prestige appears in the lobby and is locked behind V.I.P in the current build.
What rank actually gates
Two things, and neither is a weapon:
- Some pad visibility. The pad list greys out certain operations until you qualify for them.
- Access to the harder mission tiers, which is where the bigger payouts are.
The pass-locked pads are a different gate entirely — the desert and the waters raids want Special Forces, and the FBI house job wants the FBI pass. Ranking up will not open those.
Levelling without burning out
- Play the pad you can clear cleanly rather than the pad that looks exciting. Rating feeds the payout, and the payout feeds the XP.
- Claim quests. They pay for actions you were already taking.
- Take the group-and-like bonus once: $350 and 100 XP for a group join and a like.
- If XP is the only thing you want, the Double XP pass exists — but cash is the harder currency, so most officers pair Double Cash with patient play instead.
Common questions
Does rank reset?
Only through prestige, and prestige is gated behind V.I.P in the current build.
Do higher ranks pay more per raid?
The payout tracks objectives and rating. Higher ranks unlock pads with more objective lines, which is where the extra money comes from.
Is there a cap?
Nothing in the lobby indicates a final rank, and the studio ships updates weekly.
